Great Valley Computer Competition @ Penn State
On Tuesday 3/9, Montrose High School had 9 students on two teams that competed at the in the 11th Annual Great Valley Computer Contest @ Penn State Worthington in Dunmore.
The teams competed against 15 teams from Intermediate Units 18 and 19. The two Montrose teams finished in 4th Place and in 1st Place. It was amazing to have two teams in the finals (2 out of 5). The First place team earned $100 gift certificates for themselves and $400 Gift Certificates for our school district. One student on the winning team (TBD) also earned a $5000 scholarship to New Horizon Technology School.
The Forth Place team consisted of:
Bryce Carlton, Aaron Cunningham, Kienan Ross-Robertson, Michael Losopio, and Chris Ralston
The First Place team consisted of:
Chris Stevens, Molly Brunner, Courtney Hinds, Amanda Rebello

Computer Competition @ Keystone College
On Monday 3/8, Montrose Area had 10 students that competed at the Intermediate Stage of the Pennsylvania Computer Contest at Keystone College.
Four Montrose students placed:
Mike Duncan and Chris Ralston, finished in First Place in the Programming Category.
Mike and Chris will proceed on to the State Competition in Carlisle, Pennsylvania on May 25th.
Also, Chris Stevens finished in third place in the Web Design Category and Konstantinos Konstas placed in third place in the Middle School Computer Fair Logo Category.

SCCTC Night

SCCTC Information Night: A mandatory meeting for parents and students interested in attending the Susquehanna County Career and Technology Center for 2010-2011 year will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 6:30 pm in the Montrose Area Jr. Sr. High School Auditorium. This meeting is mandatory for first time students and their parents only. Representatives from the SCCTC will be on hand to present information on the programs available and the requirements. Montrose Area High School Counselors will be available to answer your questions. Please call 570-278-6233 if you have any questions.
